A set of four mid-20th century bamboo chinoiserie Brighton Pavilion armchairs, the horseshoe backs with intricate scrollwork decoration, raised upon legs with conjoining stretchers with cane seats and matching table.

These chairs show stylistic influence of the suites of Chinese Export bamboo furniture made at the beginning of the 19th century for the great chinoiserie rooms of houses such as the Brighton Pavilion, England, built by John Nash for The Prince Regent.
